Some questions are best explored with people who understand the practice from the inside: a team facing the same daily reality, or professionals across a sector who rarely get the chance to compare notes.
A Round Table is a closed, online session built around a question or theme from participants' own professional practice. Sometimes it's requested by a group itself; sometimes The Second Thought proposes one to a team or network we think would benefit from it. Using Visual Thinking Strategies, the group looks closely at one or more images connected to the question at hand - looking, listening and questioning together to surface what's really at stake. Our ambition is to give professionals a space where a shared question becomes a shared conversation; one that stays close enough to practice to be genuinely useful, and open enough to bring in perspectives colleagues might not usually voice. The insights and outcomes from each Round Table are documented and fed back into The Second Thought's expertise centre — contributing to a growing body of practice-based knowledge on VTS across different professional fields.
Bring a Round Table to your network or professional group — or let us know what's on your mind, and we'll help shape a session around it.
